Pastor Rodney Long is the new Pastor for the Capitol View & New Creation Seventh-day Adventist Church district in Lincoln, NE. He and his family moved to Lincoln in August from the Scottsbluff, NE district where they served since June of 2003.

Pastor Long and his wife Danette have been involved in full-time Ministry since 1997. Their journey began when Rodney gave up his full-time job as Trainer and Management Mentor for a national furniture company due to a conflict with the Biblical day of Worship, the Sabbath. It was six months before God called Rodney to become a Bible worker in a Church in Northwestern, MO. It was during this time he and his wife went on a mission trip to Newfoundland, Canada. Little did either of them know that soon they would be called into full-time Ministry in that very same place.

After a brief training session in Evangelism at the Black Hills Health and Education Center, at that time operated by Louis Torres and his wife, Rodney sent out résumé's. In Sept. of 1998 he was called to Pastor the Marystown, Newfoundland, Canada Church. Much success was witnessed as God worked in the 2 years they spent in that Church with increased membership, attendance and building improvements.

In June of 2000 Pastor Long was called to Pastor back in the states with the Kansas-Nebraska Conference. He was placed in the Chadron, NE District. This included the towns of Crawford, Chadron, Hay Springs, and Gordon, NE. During this time Pastor Long became involved in Church Revitalization and found his true Ministry calling: Teaching and enabling Churches and their leaders to find God's calling for the Church and themselves. While serving in this District, Pastor Long was officially Ordained to the Gospel Ministry in June of 2002.

The next Ministerial move came in May of 2003, when Elder Long accepted a call to Pastor the Scottsbluff, NE District. This district had both an English and a Spanish Church, and was the largest Adventist Church District in Nebraska, west of Lincoln. February 2007 saw yet another move on the horizon for this Pastoral family.

Pastor Long looks forward to an enriching time in the Capitol View and New Creation District. Through Leadership training, Church revitalization, and Christ centered messages, Pastor Long knows God will continue doing marvelous things in the district.
